The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has deployed 23 Local Government coordinators to drive an aggressive grassroots mobilisation campaign across the state under the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative.

The coordinators, inaugurated at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Square in Makurdi, are expected to embark on door-to-door sensitisation of residents on the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Alia said the move signals a shift towards direct citizen engagement, aimed at closing the communication gap between government and the grassroots.

“This initiative is about taking governance to the doorsteps of the people. The ambassadors will engage communities directly, explaining government actions and listening to feedback,” he said.

He explained that the coordinators would lead efforts to deepen awareness of federal government reforms while strengthening public support at the community level.

The governor linked ongoing improvements in education, healthcare and transportation in Benue to collaboration with the federal government, stressing that sustained partnership with the presidency remains critical to development.

On security, Alia said the Tinubu administration was actively addressing insecurity in the state, expressing optimism that displaced persons would continue to return to their ancestral homes.

He added that the government was working towards the eventual closure of all internally displaced persons camps as stability improves.

The governor urged residents to support his administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that grassroots mobilisation was key to consolidating ongoing development efforts.
