Benue Deputy Speaker Floors Rivals, Wins Ado APC Primary

The Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon Lami Danladi Ogenyi has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Ado State Constituency seat.

The Returning Officer for the primary election, Comrade Akaater Abraham, announced the result shortly after the exercise, declaring Ogenyi winner after satisfying all conditions required for the poll.

Ogenyi secured a landslide victory with 7,132 votes out of the total 8,767 accredited voters.

Other aspirants in the contest trailed behind with wide margins as Mark Attah Ochoga polled 264 votes, Dickson Otokpa scored 180 votes, while Iduh Godswill got 143 votes.

The deputy speaker will now proceed to fly the APC ticket for a re-election in the next year’s general election.
