Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Namibia, Dr. Terhemen Tarzoor, has declared his total support for the second-term bid of Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, describing his administration as one that has brought visible transformation and renewed hope to the state.

Speaking at a press conference in Makurdi on Monday, Ambassador Tarzoor commended Governor Alia for what he called “purposeful and disciplined leadership” that has restored faith in governance and rekindled the collective spirit of the Benue people.

“Each time I visit our beloved state, I am inspired by the remarkable transformation taking place, from the urban renewal projects in the capital city to the spread of development across our rural communities.

“The renewed hope, smiles, and satisfaction among our people speak volumes of a government working with sincerity, accountability, and a clear sense of purpose,” he said.

The former envoy praised Governor Alia’s performance in infrastructure, human capital development, economic diversification, and workers’ welfare, saying his administration had demonstrated prudence and a results-oriented approach.

Before his diplomatic posting, Tarzoor was the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.

He said his political experiences had given him a deep understanding of what good governance requires and that he had found those qualities in Governor Alia’s leadership.

“My personal observations across the state leave me fully convinced that Governor Alia is leading with integrity, discipline, and genuine commitment to service,” he stated. “His humility and devotion to the welfare of our people deeply resonate with the ideals I have always cherished,” he added.

Tarzoor pledged to stand firmly with Governor Alia as he seeks re-election in 2027, promising to lend his voice, resources, and influence to ensure continuity of what he described as a “renaissance” in Benue State.

He prayed for divine wisdom and strength for the governor to complete the ongoing transformation, urging citizens to remain united and supportive of the administration’s development vision.
