Nigerian-born aviation professional, Mr. Shiekuma Gemade, has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aviation Finance Group (AFG), a leading player in global aircraft financing and operations.
Gemade’s appointment has been hailed as another milestone for Nigerian professionals making remarkable impact in the international aviation sector.
With over two decades of experience spanning aircraft operations, leasing, and maintenance strategy, Gemade’s expertise is expected to strengthen AFG’s global competitiveness and operational growth.
Before joining AFG, Gemade held key positions at Riyadh Air, Atlas Air Worldwide, and Titan Aviation Leasing, where he led multibillion-dollar aircraft acquisition and leasing transactions.
His leadership helped shape modern fleet strategies for major carriers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
An alumnus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, Gemade holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Management. He is also a licensed FAA Private Pilot.
AFG, in a statement, described him as “a visionary strategist whose leadership will drive innovation and reinforce our mission of global excellence in aircraft finance and operations.”
Gemade, who hails from Benue State, is the son of Chief Barnabas Gemade, former Nigerian senator and political leader.
