Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins have shot dead Aondoakaa Aondoakaa Yaiyol, , the Commander of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Services (NHFSS) in Benue State,

The deceased was reportedly killed around 6:30pm on Friday at Wannune market in Tarka Local Government Area of the state.

His wife, according to witnesses was allegedly killed last year by same hired assassin who sought for his life then.

Yaiyol, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tarka LGA which is the hometown of the Secretary to the Government of the all Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume, was reportedly shot at close range by the assailants who rode on a motorcycle.

Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Security and Internal Affairs, Chief Joseph Har confirmed the incident according to reports he received from the chairman and members of the NHFSS in Tarka.

Har said, “It was an assassination of commander of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Services NHFSS, Aondoakaa Yaiyol

“They came on a bike and shot him at close quarters and fled.

After they shot the guy, they fired sporadically to scare others and then fled on a bike and they were shielded by two cars also firing sporadically to scare away people.

“Sketchy investigation shows that a criminal that attacked and killed the deceased wife and burnt the house was sent to prison. On his return both of them are chasing each other until this happened,” the security adviser added.
