An Abuja-based philanthropist, Evangelist Mrs Virginia Chinwendu Okeiyi, has bowed out of Federal Civil Service on June 1, 2025 after attaining the mandatory retirement of 35 years in service.
Evang. Mrs Okeiyi, who is humanity personified, is a lover of orphans, widows and the vulnerable.
Out of her meagre income (as a salary earner), she has touched many lives. Her acts of charity do not discriminate in terms of religion or ethnicity.
Evang. Okeiyi believes that the essence of humanity is to give hope to the hopeless and put smile on the faces of the vulnerable. She has empowered and given succor to many vulnerable Nigerians.
When she was about retiring from the Civil Service, she registered an NGO called, GOD’S FAVOUR AND COMPASSION FOUNDATION, which she would like to use as a platform to extend her acts of charity to the larger society.
As part of activities lined up to mark her glorious retirement from service, on 23rd August, 2025, there will be sentforth/launch of her book titled: “THE Will OF GOD”. The book chronicles the journey of her life – from birth, career, family life, etc, to inspire others.
The book also deals with how single/married women can combine and do well in their careers and family responsibilities. The book is published by EXPLOITS JOURNAL.
Part of the proceeds from the book launch will be channelled to her NGO as kick-off capital.
According to the chairman, planning committee, he said, “the venue of the event as well as time, will be communicated to the public as soon as possible.”
