A grassroots politician and former Councillor of Nyanya Ward, Hon. Ahmed Abubakar Medugu, has emerged as the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

Hon. Medugu started active FCT politics in 1994. He later joined ANPP under the platform which he won an election and became Councillor for Nyanya Ward in 2007. From ANPP, the experienced politician joined CPC, which later was part of the merger that gave birth to the current ruling party (APC).

The new APC AMAC chairman has remained in the ruling party (APC) since its formation.

His political allies who spoke to NIGERIA PROJECTS said, the emergence of Hon. Medugu as APC AMAC chairman is a good one as that would bring the much turnaround to the ruling party, especially in 2027 general elections.

“Hon. Medugu is an experienced politician. He was there right from the formation of the ruling party. During the trying moments of the ruling party in FCT, some of his peers left the party; but he has remained in the party and continued to build the party as well as bringing hope to the people.

“And today, by God’s grace, the party leaders remembered him, this is commendable. It has shown that we now have the right leaders in the FCT ruling party. He is a man of capacity, and I can assure you that with his calibre as the AMAC APC Chairman, he will easily deliver AMAC and by extension entire FCT to APC in 2027 general polls.
“This is a good news and we are very happy and fully behind him,” one of the APC stalwarts from Nyanya Ward who didn’t want to be mention said.
