One of the leading contestants for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship position in the February 2026 FCT Council polls, under the umbrella of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Moses Paul; has paid a courtesy visit to Chief James Alabi Okai, the head of Igala traditional rulers in FCT, and its environs.

The ADC flag bearer and his entourage visited Chief Okai on Tuesday, where he took time to explain his agenda for visiting the head of the Igala traditional ruler in FCT.

He extoled Chief Okai for his contributions to Igala kingdom, Kogi State and Nigeria at large. The young politician said, he has come to bring new idea and real politics to the residents of AMAC; while adding that as a trained medical doctor, he has been using the profession to uplift the lives of residents of AMAC, having lived in Abuja for the past forty years.

“I have been following your largesse not only in Igala kingdom, but also in the whole Kogi State, as well as the entire nation. You have touched many lives. His Royal Highness, I have come to formally inform you that I’m vying for AMAC chairman. As a royal father, and my father, it became necessary and imperative for me to pay you homage, in order to formally inform you, as well as to solicit for your fatherly blessing.”

In his response, High Royal Highness, Chief James Alabi Okai, a retired Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, appreciated the visitor for coming, and for according him such respect. He said the country is in need of new crop of young politicians like Dr. Moses Paul, to change the narrative of bad governance in the country. He advised the visitor to carry all stakeholders in the FCT along irrespective of tribe, religion and race.

According to the Kogi-born elder statesman, he should liaise with other tribes in FCT, as well as to put his trust in God because there is nothing too much for God to handle.

He said, “Don’t concentrate on your tribal men or women alone. There are lots of tribes in FCT, as you go round, meet all of them and share your manifesto with them. If God, by his mercies, gives you victory at the polls, always remember where you are coming from, and make sure that you carry everybody along. As far as I’m concerned, we may differ by tribe, religion, race and region; but the fact remains that we were all created by God, therefore; we should treat one another squarely and fairly.”

The traditional ruler blessed him, and wished him success at the polls.

Dr. Moses Paul, a trained medical doctor, has travelled to at least, twenty countries of the world, and has been involved in charity work in FCT, over the years.

Some analysts have said the young Benue-born Doctorate Degree (Phd) holder, is a man to watch, as he may cause political havoc to the big names during 2026 FCT Council polls.
