The Force Commander, Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Major General Moses Gara, has urged newly promoted officers to embrace discipline and integrity as they take on higher responsibilities in the Armed Forces and Police.
Speaking in Makurdi during a decoration ceremony of the promoted officers, the commander reminded them that promotion comes with higher expectations, stressing that loyalty, commitment, and sacrifice remain the pillars of effective service.
“You must lead by example and make integrity your watchword,” Gara said, adding that subordinates look up to their leaders while superiors demand results.
A total of 11 personnel drawn from the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Police were decorated. They include nine Army officers elevated to the rank of Major, a Naval officer promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and a Police officer advanced to Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The ceremony, hosted at the 401 Special Forces Brigade Joint Officers’ Mess by Commander Sector 1 OPWS, Colonel Kolawole Bukoye, featured decorations, pledges of commitment, and group photographs.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Major N. Miri-Dashe pledged renewed dedication to duty and thanked the Service Chiefs for the elevation.
