The Governor of Edo State, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, has frowned at Bi-modal Voters Accreditation System (BIVAS) machine of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the malfunctioning of the machine especially at his polling Unit of Ward 2 , unit 1 of Udomi in Esan Central of Edo State, during the Saturday’s bye-election. It will be recalled that it took the governor several attempts before the BIVAS captured his face. But he, however, applauded the peaceful nature of the poll as Edo people came out en-mass to exercise their franchise.
Addressing journalists, the Coordinating First Lady of Edo State, Her Excellency, Anani Okpebholo, was happy for the peaceful nature of the voting process and conduct of voters despite party affiliations
The First Lady, described the Governor as a dynamic person, who is seriously key into The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Tinubu. The administration has performed extremely well in education, health sector and in security wise too; “Edo is shining,” she said.
She further explained that under nine months of the administration, a lot of women have been empowered through grants for agriculture training. “His Excellency is a governor that has been very passionate to development of women agenda.”
She concluded by saying that any nation where women are empowered, such nation would experience progress as “no women, no nation”, while promising better days for women in Edo State under the able and dynamic leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
