Bandits have killed an 85-year-old woman, Hajiya Amina Adamu Kabe, in the Borgu local government area of Niger State and abducted scores of villagers.

It was learned that the 85-year-old woman was running from their village to escape the attacks of the bandits who were abducting the villagers and scavenging for food items in the village.

The son of the octogenarian, Barrister Usman Abubakar Shiyaki, who confirmed the incident, said that the bandits attacked the village about midnight on Wednesday.

NIGERIA PROJECT reports that the bandits’ attack comes on the heels of the recent visit of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and the Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Abdullahi Sabi, to the area.
