The Senate Minority Leader and senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, has condemned the renewed attacks on communities in Ado and Ohimini Local Government Areas of Benue State by suspected herders.

This followed reports of armed men invasion on Rijo in Utonkon community of Ado LGA and Anwule in Oglewu community of Ohimini LGA few days ago, killing several residents, injuring others, and destroying properties worth millions of naira.

Residents said the attackers targeted farmers working on their fields and villagers in their homes.

In a statement issued by his media adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, Senator Moro described the attacks as “barbaric and cowardly,” expressing sadness over the continuous loss of innocent lives in his constituency.

He decried the recurring nature of such violent incidents across Zone C and questioned why no arrests or prosecutions have been made despite the frequency of the attacks.

Moro urged security agencies to act swiftly to prevent further bloodshed and ensure that perpetrators of the latest violence are apprehended and brought to justice.

The senator also extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
