Plateau State Government, PLSG, is set to replace all underperforming and Non-productive lecturers from state-owned tertiary institutions to pave way for excellent performance.

This was made public by the State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, while playing host to the Muslim Ummah who paid him Eid-el Kabir homage at Government House in Jos, Plateau State Capital.

In response to the plea made by the Emir of Wase, HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Muazu, to the Governor to consider restoring back to work the retrenched tertiary institutions’ staff who did not drag the government to court, Mutfwang repudiates malice as spur to the retrenchment, but the pursuit of justice; saying when his administration came on board, it discovered that there were some lecturers who have been ad-hoc staff while their graduated students whom they taught in the institutions were given permanent jobs as lecturers which made the exercise shoddy, hence called for proper adjustments achievable by firstly sacking the undue employed staff.

The governor further explained that the Industrial Court did not fault the retrenchment exercise carried out by his administration, but executing it in the absence of the governing board; thereby prompting its nullification and restoration of the sacked staff.

Mutfwang assured that the sacked staff who did not resort to seeking redress in court, will also be returned to their jobs for exhibiting high sense of maturity and understanding, while underperforming lecturers will be shown the way out as no parent would want simpletons to lecture their offspring or wards.
