The Nyanya Ward Electorates in Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC; said they have settled for the re-election of the Councillor representing the ward, who also doubles as the Speaker of the council, AMAC; Hon. Matthew Yare Danjuma, because he has performed very well. Hon. Danjuma is seeking for re-election in the February 2026 FCT Council polls, under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

According to the electorates, Hon. Matthew Danjuma, is an achiever and has performed more than all the councilors the ward (Nyanya) produced since 1999; therefore, have made up their minds to queue behind him to coast home to victory.

Speaking to Nigeria Project, a traditional ruler in Nyanya ward, who didn’t want him name to be mentioned said, the AMAC Speaker has made his campaign very easy as his achievements are felt and seen by the electorates.

He added that the youthful politician has given hope to Nigerians that there are still youths that can be trusted in leadership positions. He challenged the opponents of the speaker to tell the electorates what they have for them instead of resorting to mere cheap propaganda such as “we had an agreement to do only two-term.”

He said, “Hon. Matthew Danjuma has performed very well. You don’t change a winning team. Those who are talking of agreement should talk of what they can do for the electorates instead of resorting to cheap propaganda such as the issue of two-term agreement.”

He advised the speaker’s opponents to desist from such unfounded issues; while informing them that some lawmakers have been in National Assembly since 1999 till date. He charged them to do more work, in order to convince the electorates in future elections, because there is no tenure limit for legislative arm of government.

“Let his opponents do more work to convince the electorates so that they can vote for them in future. There is no tenure limit for the legislative arm of government,” he added.

Also, speaking to our reporter, Titus Kolawole said, is yet to see who can defeat Hon. Matthew Danjuma in the forthcoming FCT poll. According to him, the speaker has performed very well, and his competitors have a lot of work to do.

“As far as I’m concerned, what is paramount to me is performance. The legislators have no tenure limit. So, the idea of two-term is immaterial. For me, the young man has done very well; wisdom demands that he should be given another opportunity to continue his good work. I will vote for him and by God’s graces, he will get good number of votes from my family, friends and neighbours. After all, are people not in National Assembly since 1999? What is the outcry about the two-term?” he asked rhetorically.

For another Nyanya resident, Amina Isah, she said, Hon. Danjuma has brought hope to the electorates in Nyanya Ward. According to her, apart from performance, the speaker is very easy to see.

Her words: “Hon. Danjuma apart from performance, is a good man. He is not a type of Nigerian politicians that usually shut their doors against electorates when they get to power. He gives people easy access to see him, very humble and God-fearing young man.

“Hon. Matthew Danjuma has proven that with the right people in leadership positions, things will get better. For me, I don’t know any other person that is contesting than him. I will vote for him and I know many people will also vote for him. He will win the election,” she concluded.

The speaker of AMAC, Hon. Matthew Yare Danjuma political profile has continued to rise not only in his Nyanya Ward but in entire AMAC, due to his performance in the area of roads, human capital development, empowerment and philanthropy. The young politician has also gathered thousands of supporters because of what they described as “his high levy of humility and godliness.”

The Speaker of AMAC, Hon. Matthew Yare Danjuma, has facilitated the construction/rehabilitation of many roads in the ward, as well as empowering hundreds of people.
