Ezzycare empowers young entrepreneurs with N5million grant

The Chief Executive Officer of Ezzycare and the Ezzycare Mentorship Programme, Dr. Torngee Malu, has awarded a total of N5 million in business grants to five finalists of the organization’s mentorship initiative to support the growth of their enterprises.

Malu at the grant presentation ceremony held in Makurdi on Saturday emphasised that Nigeria and Benue State in particular have innovative, talented, and industrious individuals eager to transform the economic landscape.

He explained that it was why the mentorship programme was launched to identify and nurture viable business ideas, pointing out that over 100 applicants applied, out of which 12 were shortlisted for interviews. .

Dr. Malu, a renowned plastic surgeon, further disclosed that five finalists were ultimately selected and mentored to refine and develop their business ideas, adding that each of the five beneficiaries, now recognized as Ezzycare Alumni, received N1 million to scale their businesses.

Dr. Malu encouraged them to embody the values of integrity, diligence, and innovation, urging them to “be faithful and trustworthy, work hard, and be innovative” in order to stand out and achieve sustainable success.

He noted that the gesture was part of Ezzycare’s commitment to giving back to society and pledged continued support for aspiring entrepreneurs through the mentorship programme.

The grant recipients include: Mercy Tyodugh, a poultry farmer, Vitalis Vangeryina, a clothing retailer, Ngodoo Martha, a makeup artist, Ityavbee Deborah, a laundry service provider and Meshach Dondu, an animal farmer

Earlier at the event, each beneficiary shared personal insights from their mentorship experience, describing it as transformative and enlightening.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Ngodoo Martha expressed gratitude to Dr. Torngee Malu and the mentorship team, including Programme Coordinator Shidoo Tarkaa, Project Manager Mr. Luke Uzer, and B2B Lead Manager Bernard Tor Lafia, for equipping them with the tools needed to succeed.

She assured that they are committed to paying it forward by mentoring others and contributing to the growth of new businesses across the state.
