The Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Chief Mrs. Lami Danladi Ogenyi, has announced the commencement of a second phase of free medical and surgical outreach for her constituents in Ado Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by her Chief Press Secretary, Samuel Agbaji, the lawmaker said the seven-day programme would run from September 28 to October 4, 2025, under her pet project, the Lami Health Foundation (LHF).
According to her, the fresh phase follows the success of earlier outreaches in Apa and Akpoge/Ogbilolo Council Wards where thousands of residents benefitted from free consultations, treatments, and surgeries.
The Deputy Speaker said the initiative aims to improve healthcare access for grassroots residents, particularly women, children, and the elderly. Services will include consultations, screenings, treatments, minor surgical interventions, and follow-up management.
The outreach will also feature hepatitis, HIV, malaria, and VDRL screening, blood pressure and sugar tests, free eye care, and distribution of delivery packs to expectant mothers.
Chief Ogenyi urged residents to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that healthcare professionals will be on ground throughout the exercise to provide services across designated centers in Ukwonyo Utonkon, Camp 2 Igumale, and Ijigban, with a final mop-up on October 4.
She reaffirmed her commitment to improving the well-being of constituents through sustained healthcare interventions.
