The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has hailed Professor Nentawe Yilwatda on his emergence as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Prof. Nentawe, who currently serves as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, was unanimously elected by the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to replace Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned in June citing personal and health reasons.
Alia in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, on Thursday described the new party chairman as a distinguished academic, visionary leader, and a man of integrity.
“I have no doubt in the capacity of Prof. Yilwatda to reposition our great party and move it to greater heights. His intellect, brilliance, and commitment to excellence will continue to attract admiration and support for the APC nationwide,” the governor said.
Governor Alia also recalled Yilwatda’s past service as the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State and praised his role as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State during the 2023 general elections.
He wished the new chairman success in his new role and expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen the ruling party’s base across the country.
